High Protein Chocolate Orange Yogurt
This 40+ gram protein bomb was suprisingly filling, refreshing and delicious!
I’m popping in to share yet another high-protein yogurt idea because I am obsessed.
That obsession is three-fold: obsessed with yogurt, obsessed with protein (I am a wieghtlifter, after all), and obsessed with coming up with fun flavor combinations to try and share.
This particular combo isn’t as intuitive to me as the others I posted, even though I’ve seen those chocolate oranges around the holidays. My brain tends to process fruit-chocolate combinations like this:
Chocolate Strawberry? YES!
Chocolate Blueberry? TOTALLY!
Chocolate Banana? HELL YES!
Chocolate Orange? Ummmm, I mean, I guess.
So, I decided to try this combo a few days ago, and my brain was pleasantly surprised. My orange-chocolate yogurt experiment was tasty, refreshing, and most importantly, really easy to pull together.
All I did was mix a scoop of chocolate whey with 3/4 cup of Greek yogurt. I let it sit for a minute while I peeled and chopped a navel orange. I topped the yogurt with the orange and added crunch with slivered almonds and cocoa nibs.
It was filling too. A great post-workout/breakfast that kept me satisfied all morning.
If you are on the fence like I was, I highly recommend this combo for a fun way to enjoy yogurt and up your protein intake. I no longer track macros, but calculated my bowl at about 400 calories, 48g of protein, 33g of carbs, 7g fiber, and 10g fat. No wonder I found it so filling!
Your thoughts on chocolate and orange together? I’m curious if I’m the only one who is iffy on this combination.
